The name on the marriage application and the marriage certificate at the Gibson County Clerk's office in the courthouse is spelled Sipher. They probably wrote it down the way he pronounced it, and they didn't check. The surname of the children at their marriages was spelled correctly, and also the name on Ota H. Seifers tombstone.
