Charleston Cemetery, Volina Twp, Cass Co., Michigan
There are multiple separate Goble plots in this small, country cemetery.
- First plot:
- Brookfield Goble no dates on stone
- Jane Goble 1843-1895 (or 1896)
- Mary E. Brown...has a stone and a metal marker, stone says 1873-1943,
metal marker says 1883-1943
- Pearl Goble 1883-1889
- Gladys Z. Goble 1867-1888
There is a large GOBLE family marker between Jane and Mary.
(I do not find Glady's husband Jonathan Elijah in this cemetery...either
by headstone or by the inventory).
- In another plot:
- Lewis C. _______ Goble (something illegible in the middle) d. Oct 10, 1860
aged 11 y 7 m 8 d
- Another nearby plot (near Lewis)
- Phebe Goble d/o Elijah & Eliza Goble - no date I could see, though stone is leaning badly
- In another plot with a badly worn stone:
- Our Father
Jonathan Goble, died July 1, 1878 aged 66 years 8 mos 11 das
then some illegible print, looks like a scripture
Mary, his wife Born Jan 17, 1816 Died Nov 24, 1888
and another worn scripture
- Next to Jonathan and Mary is a broken stone, I expect
is either John B. or Isaac B., both of whom the inventory
lists as buried here. The broken stone is there...too badly worn
to read.
- Two small stones for
Angeline
Nancy
(no dates on these, just first names on top)
- A small stone for Infant Dau of AJ & Lida Goble Aug 10, 1891 (this would be Andrew Jackson and Delilah Ball Goble)
