William J. (8) Goble was born October 17, 1831 in Shelby County, Ohio to Abraham (Abram) (7) Goble and Effie (Mary) Drake. William married Susan Whistler, daughter of Samuel Whistler and Nancy Price November 24, 1856 in North Webster, Kosciusko County, Indiana. They had 10 children. Pictured are John, William J., Susan, Edna, Charley Goble.
The medal on the chest of William Goble was a Grand Army of the Republic Veteran Medal. I am sure he was very proud of it because he had his chest out proudly in the picture.
